Stability

If you're planning to take your three-wheeled bike off the tracks that are paved, it's worth selecting a model with air-filled tyres (also known as pneumatic tyres) which can cope with the toughest terrain. They may have to be regularly pumped up from time the point, but they will be more durable and puncture-proof compared to solid tyres. You should choose one with an adjustable front wheel that is locked to assist you on tricky surfaces.

The fact that there is only one front wheel could mean that three-wheelers tend to be heavier than buggies with four wheels when folded. Make sure the model you choose fits inside your car's boot and can be placed upright if required. Some models can be folded using one hand, and they can be rearranged when folded. This will save space in a small car boot.

A quality 3 wheel stroller with seat wheel pushchair can cope with all terrains, from busy streets to woodland tracks. It's important to think about how you will use it every day. If you'll be doing the school run with it, it should be able to handle sharp slopes and kerbs. If you plan to jog with it, make sure it has a swivelling "stretch front wheel' that can be locked. This will keep the ride stable.

MFM reviewer Kath found her tri-wheeled buggy able to cope really well with urban and countryside walks. Kath said it negotiated cobbles, rocky paths and bumpy pavements effortlessly and felt pleasant to jog with too. Fabric Sling Seat

The main difference between a fabric seat and a modular seat is the fabric sling. It is placed inside the frame of the buggy, instead of being placed on top like the modular chair. A brand that is most famous for its car seats, Maxi-Cosi has recently added an all-new 3-wheeler to its range with the Stella. The all-terrain buggy has an enormous, spacious and impressively growing travel system seat unit that can be a world-facing or parent face and reclines flat with an improved 5-point safety harness. It can be used from birth using an infant car seat or carrycot and comes with a reasonably large shopping basket and a hood that has zip pockets, and a convenient one-hand fold.

The angular frame has stunning pewter finish and touches of burnished aluminum. It's a true eye-catching piece. This is a great option for active parents. It comes with a large, padded seat which can be set either parent or world facing. It also comes with an upgraded 5-point harness as well as a complete set of rain covers.

Modular Seat
